GNWT announces new crosswalk at museum

Pedestrians rejoice!

The Department of Infrastructure is opening a new crosswalk at the intersection of the Chateau Nova Hotel and the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre in Yellowknife.

In addition to the recently installed lighting and roadside pedestrian pathway, the crosswalk will be controlled and will feature crosswalk lights.

Drivers are reminded to always watch for pedestrians and be prepared to stop, while pedestrians are reminded to always press the provided button before crossing.

Feds commit $20 million for new water treatment plant in Hay River

GNWT's Department of Infrastructure has closed the Mackenzie Valley Winter Road: Wrigley - Délı̨nę Junction. On Wednesday afternoon, the Edzo-Rae Ice Road saw a planned seasonal closure. The planned closure was announced earlier this week and is part of seasonal changes that will also see the Dettah Ice Road close later this month.
