Fund for Yellowknife house fire couple passes $15,000 mark

A fund to help a Yellowknife couple whose house caught fire last Friday has surpassed $15,000.

Funds raised for Axel and Courtney Jung (pictured), who lost their Glick Court home and belongings, include an anonymous donation of $1,000.

The Jungs and their pets were not hurt in the fire. However, they are now struggling to find a furnished rental home that will accept their cat and dog.

“I just want to say a big thank you to all the support everyone has shown us, especially a big thank you to the person who came to our door this morning and woke us up so that we were able to make it out okay,” Courtney Jung wrote on Facebook.

“Thank you so much, words are not enough to express our gratitude. I hope I can find out who you are and thank you in person.”
