Feedback deadline for GNWT Energy Strategy coming quick

If you are looking to give your feedback on the Draft 2030 Energy Strategy, your time is running out.

The Government of the Northwest Territories Energy Strategy is a long term plan for correcting energy supply and use.

The main goal has been switching from expensive fossil fuels used for heating homes and creating electricity. The GNWT wants to transition to a more environmentally friendly option that also provides a less expensive cost of living. This includes the potential for the development of hydroelectric power and transmission lines, and develop wind and solar energies to replace diesel.

The deadline for feedback is on January 3rd, 2018.

YWCA NWT has launched a mural project to be led by Indigenous artists

Alayna Ward, with the YWCA NWT says the mural will occupy a central location. “A lot of the staff are located there and that's where a lot of the programs take place as well. We have a lot of traffic that comes in and out of that location, as well as a lot of families that live in that location. So the place of the mural would be right at the entryway,” said Ward. “It's going to create a really great inclusive welcoming space," she added.
