YK taxi driver robbed, suspect in custody

A man is in police custody after he allegedly injured and robbed a Yellowknife taxi driver.

Just before lunch today, roughly 11:30 am, police responded to an assault and robbery call. The attack is believed to have taken place in an alley in the 54 Street area. The alleged suspect then ran off in the direction of Con Road.

Police located the suspect and he was arrested. The driver was treated for minor injuries.

The RCMP say the investigation is on-going, but they are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
