The Legion and honouring Remembrance Day

Tomorrow is Remembrance Day.

A parade will be had, beginning at the Cenotaph at 9:50 in the morning. The parade will come to a close at St. Patrick High School. At 11:00, the ceremony begins at the school.

Richard Jalbert from the Legion was in the studio this week.

He spoke about tomorrow’s ceremony, and the get-together at the legion.

The ceremony is always well attended, everyone is invited,” said Jalbert. “After, we’re having people over at the Legion. Food, drinks – meet some people, if you’d like. You don’t need a membership to come.

Jalbert was quick to adjust.

It’s always appreciated though,” he said with a smile.

Jalbert added that donations from poppies will go towards helping the Legion, as well as any veterans in need.

If you haven’t grabbed your poppy, and you can’t find one from last year, they’re available at most businesses around Yellowknife.
