Union of Northern Workers re-elect Parsons for sixth term

The Union of Northern Workers came together this past weekend for the 17th Triennial Convention.

The members re-elected Todd Parsons to his sixth term as President. Gayla Thunstrom was re-elected to her fifth term as 1st Vice President. Nicole Tews was elected as 2nd Vice President for her first term.

The rest to be named to the executive are Lauraine Armstrong, Regional Vice President Fort Smith, Christina Holman, Regional Vice President Deh Cho, Dawna O’Brien, Regional Vice President Hay River, David Bob, Regional Vice President Beaufort Delta-Sahtu, Josee-Anne Thibault, Regional Vice President Somba K’e and Rashmi Patel as the Equity Vice President.

The UNW was recognized by Rotary Club President, Kam Hogan for their work with the community. The Union raised $25 000 for the YWCA, GirlSpace program.
