This morning, Yellowknife RCMP and Emergency Services responded to a crash on Dettah Road, near Highway 4.
Roads were closed for roughly three hours as motorists were asked to avoid the area entirely.
RCMP released in a statement that “a preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle left the road and went into the ditch.”
The driver, a Yellowknife man, was transported by ambulance to Stanton Territorial Hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, he was pronounced dead.
Yellowknife RCMP are assisting the Office of the Chief Coroner of the Northwest Territories as the investigation continues.
Dettah Road has since been re-opened.
