Three arrested during Yellowknife drug bust

Three men have been arrested and charged in relation to a drug bust in Yellowknife.

On Tuesday, the General Investigation Section (GIS) of the Yellowknife RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the downtown area, seizing cocaine, cash and a firearm.

One man was from Yellowknife, the other two were from Scarborough, Ontario.

Northwest Territories RCMP Media Relations, Marie York-Condon, says the bust has effectively removed a threat from the streets.

The coordinated efforts of our RCMP Units has interrupted suspected drug trafficking and taken a hand gun off the streets,” Condon says. “The community is safer for this and our members are committed to removing illicit drugs and the associated potential danger from our streets.”

All three suspects are in custody and will appear in court next Monday.
