Open house for Literacy Outreach Program

The Literacy Outreach Centre is inviting residents to attend an open house next week.

Thanks to a partnership between the Yellowknife Association for Community Living (YKACL) and Aurora College, the Centre provides morning literacy classes and afternoon literacy outreach for families, seniors, and adults on a daily basis.

The event is being run at the Trades and Technology building (4509 Franklin Ave). It’ll be catered by the Fat Fox Cafe.

It’ll run from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Tuesday night.

The GNWT’s department of Infrastructure has issued a 72 Hour Notice of Closure Caution for the Wekweètì and Gamètì winter roads. According to the public message posted Sunday afternoon, the roads “may close sooner with little to no notice.” Earlier this month, the Wekweètì and Gamètì winter roads were restricted to night travel only between 10 pm to 10 am.
