Stand up against family violence.
Communities across the Northwest Territories will be hosting events for the 17th annual Family Violence Awareness Week. Communities listed to be involved are: Yellowknife, Aklavik, Tulita, Fort Good Hope, Fort McPherson, Behchoko, Fort Providence, Tsiigehtchic, Norman Wells, Ulukhaktok, Fort Liard, Fort Simpson, Hay River, Inuvik, N’Dilo, and Sambaa K’e.
Yellowknife’s own event will take place this Saturday afternoon.
There will be face-painting, a three-legged race, and a reading corner, as well as other activities.
It is running from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm at the Northern United Place.
