UPDATE: GTA, from Alberta to YK

Yellowknife RCMP have arrested a 17-year old male connected to a stolen pick-up truck.

Nearly two weeks ago, police responded to reports of erratic driving in the downtown area.

The suspected grey Dodge Ram pick-up truck was located but quickly fled the scene. The truck then collided with two parked cars.

No injuries were reported in relation to the crash.

The truck was found to have been stolen from Grande Prairie, Alberta.

The teen is facing nine charges:

  • Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle.
  • Flight from Police.
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime over $5000.
  • Resist/Obstruct peace officer.
  • Five counts of Failure to Comply with condition of undertaking or recognizance.

He will be appearing in court today.

RCMP have updated their report to say nine people have died following a school shooting in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., which is located about 400 kilometres north east of Prince George. Mounties received a report of an active shooter at the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School around 1:20 this afternoon (Mountain Time Tuesday). A Police Initiated Public Alert was issued as officers responded to the scene.
