NWT Fire Marshall deems Tuktoyaktuk fire suspicious

Tuktoyaktuk RCMP are investigating a fire.

On Sunday, police responded to a call at the Jason Jacobson Youth Centre.

The Fire Department extinguished the blaze, but there was damage sustained to the building.

The Northwest Territories Fire Marshall deemed the fire suspicious.

The Northwest Territories department of Infrastructure has issued more seasonal road closure cautions for winter roads in the last days of April. Today a 72-hour closure caution was issued for the Aklavik Access Road but officials warned the road “may close sooner with little to no notice.”
