Emergency Services rescue man trapped in garbage truck

A 42-year old man is recovering from minor injuries after falling into a garbage truck.

Early yesterday morning, Yellowknife RCMP responded to a report of a man being inside of a garbage truck. When the officers arrived on scene on Old Airport Road, they could hear a voice from inside the trash collection area of the truck.

City of Yellowknife Fire Division and Emergency Medical Services helped remove the adult male from the truck.

The man was safely removed and transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital for observation and treatment.

The incident is not considered to be a criminal matter and the investigation is closed
