McLeod, Notley sign five-year agreement for development

The Premiers of Alberta and the Northwest Territories met yesterday to make a big announcement.

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley and NWT Premier Bob McLeod signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation and Development. It’s a five year agreement on energy, trade and transportation, and health and social services. McLeod said he’s encouraged by the potential impact of the signings.

It builds on our already strong relationship, which is particularly important in these difficult economic times.

McLeod added, “I appreciate Premier Notley’s commitment to renewing our partnership and look forward to working with her and the people of Alberta.

The five-year agreement will highlight the importance of environmental leadership in Northern development.
