The sobering centre is moving to a permanent location.
The Department of Health and Social Services announced that a lease has been signed for a long-term location of the Yellowknife Day Shelter and Sobering Centre.
The building is located at the former location of the Right Spot Sports bar at 5111 50th street.
The GNWT says the new location was chosen after assessing 22 potential sites but extensive upgrades are needed before opening its doors.

The current Sobering Centre in the Yellowknife Community Arena closes today.
The GNWT has not provided an opening day for the new location.
