Mackenzie named new Tłı̨chǫ Grand Chief

The former Grand Chief is now the new Grand Chief.

Results are in for the Tłı̨chǫ Grand Chief election.

A grand total of 1551 votes were cast from polling stations in Behchokǫ, Whatì, Gamètì, Wekweètì and Yellowknife.

George Mackenzie was voted in with 677 votes.

The now-former Grand Chief, Eddie Erasmus, came in second with 486 votes.

Mackenzie will serve a four-year term for the Tłı̨chǫ Nation.
