Classes for Yellowknife Catholic schools kickoff Friday

Class is back in session.

The offices for all Yellowknife Catholic Schools are open for registration. The official registration day for the high school students is Thursday, August 31st.

“We are very excited because we’ve got the JK implementation,” says Superintendent Claudia Parker. “Our numbers are looking really good. At St. Joseph’s, we have 2 bilingual Junior Kindergarten classes and an English Junior kindergarten class. At Weledeh we have 2 english JK classes.”

Parker says indigenous programs will be implemented in the new Junior Kindergarten classes in light of the downsizing of Aboriginal Headstart Programs.

The first day of class for all Catholic schools in Yellowknife is Friday, September 1st.
