‘Voices of Youths’ gives youths a voice

12 Northwest Territories students with disabilities have been given a voice.

A new project is available that features the stories of the students living with disabilities.

Board Member for the Disabilities Council, Alannis McKee, served as, essentially, an editor on the project.

The students are really the authors. I just helped gather the students’ stories; helped clean them up.

I just want to start the conversation about disabilities. There’s sort of a niche community surrounding these students and others with disabilities. If their stories can be brought forward, maybe that opens up the discussion.

Voices of Youths: Northern Narratives on Disabilities can be found online at the Disabilities Council.
