YK man charged with assault

A Yellowknife man is facing charges of assault following an attack Wednesday night.

Yellowknife RCMP responded to a call in the Frame Lake South district.

The 20-year-old man attempted to flee on foot but was arrested in short time.

The victim was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital.

The man charged will make his first appearance on September 12.

RCMP investigators ask that should anyone have witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken with police, or should anyone have information regarding the incident, they are asked to contact the Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, nwtnutips.com, (click on “submit a web tip”) or text: nwtnutips to 274637.
