A Yellowknife man is facing charges of assault following an attack Wednesday night.
Yellowknife RCMP responded to a call in the Frame Lake South district.
The 20-year-old man attempted to flee on foot but was arrested in short time.
The victim was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital.
The man charged will make his first appearance on September 12.
