Cab driver facing assault charge against customer

An Aurora Taxi driver is facing an assault charge after an early morning incident with a passenger.

48 year old Matar Mahamed Mahamud, is facing one count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

One passenger taking a cab in the early hours of July 24, reported to police that he had been assaulted after a verbal dispute with the driver.

Mahamud will make his first appearance in Yellowknife Territorial Court on September 19, 2017.

RCMP ask that anyone that witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken with police are asked to contact the Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111.
