Downtown stabbing suspect appears in court

A Fort Resolution man made his second court appearance in relation to a stabbing in Downtown Yellowknife.
26 year old Donovan Collins is being charged with aggravated assault after a stabbing on Franklin Avenue.
Police say on Thursday, July 20th, one suspect was stabbed in downtown Yellowknife and one male suspect fled the scene on foot.

RCMP officers and Police Dog Services located and arrested Collins shortly after the incident.

The victim was transported to Stanton Hospital  and later transported by medivac to Edmonton for treatment.

Donovan Collins is expected to appear in Yellowknife Territorial Court tomorrow at 1:30pm.

A number of water fixtures test positive for lead in two more NWT schools

Police believe fraud suspect may have fled to Nova Scotia

A 59-year old suspect is facing charges in an alleged incident of fraud following an investigation that began last year in Fort Providence. Police said the suspect may no longer be in the territory but a warrant has been issued for their arrest. The charges stem back to suspected fraud activity that allegedly occurred at a service station in the community of Fort Providence.
