Fort Good Hope Wildfire increases

The Fort good hope wildfire is now 18 kilometers away from the community.

The fire has now grown to 16,000 hectares of land.

The GNWT says the fire is not an immediate threat to the community and plans are in place if an evacuation becomes necessary.

Fort Good hope residents are invited to attend a daily public meeting with representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the local Emergency Response team.

ENR is also providing daily updates on the community radio station.
