Relay for Life in Yellowknife is cancelled for 2017.
Moose FM contacted the Canadian Cancer Society’s NWT/Alberta sector of the organization.
They say the reason for the cancelling was a lack of volunteers:
“It was really a lack of a committee. We weren’t getting the volunteers and we decided it was time to cancel the event. It’s unfortunate but it happens.”
According to the Relay for Life in Yellowknife’s Facebook page, the 2016 fundraiser raised over $100,000.
