Power in Yellowknife fully restored

Power across the city went out late last night.

Moose FM reached out to Pam Coulter, Communications Manager for the Northwest Territories Power Corporation. She confirmed that it was, “a full YK outage. Restoration is already underway.

Power was fully restored before midnight last night.

The NTPC tweeted: “YK Outage — under investigation. When lightning strikes power equipment it shuts down to protect expensive generation equipment.

The entire process took roughly an hour to fix once recognized.

So, not long enough for refrigerated food to spoil.
