The Yellowknife-based diamond mining company, De Beers Canada, won four of the seven competitions at the NWT Mine Rescue Competition.
The De Beers-Gahcho Kué team was named ‘Top Overall Surface Team’ at the competition, which was held in Yellowknife on June 9th-10th.

The Gahcho Kué team won in the Surface Practical Bench, Surface Rope Rescue, Surface Written Task, and Firefighting.
De Beers Canada also earned a victory with their Victor Mine team winning in the Surface Obstacle competition.

Other winners included Meadowbank, Meliadine, TMAC, Ekati (x2), and Diavik (x3).
Diavik took home the ‘Overall Underground Team’ award.
