RCMP locate and arrest YK man charged with sexual assault

After pleading for the public’s help in locating a man charged with sexual assault, Yellowknife RCMP announced Thursday that Aaron Catholique has been located and arrested. 

Police issued a request on Tuesday asking for the public’s assistance in locating the 36-year-old. Several attempts had been reportedly made to arrest him.

Catholique is now custody, RCMP say, and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing this afternoon.

Yellowknife police report that two security guards are facing charges following an alleged assault of an older adult. Officers say the man sustained injuries and was treated in hospital. The names of the suspects have not been made public as the changes have yet to be sworn in court, said RCMP.
