Over 1,400 campsites have been reserved in the NWT this season

The online reservation system for NWT parks opened on April 12 and 13, and it already looks to be a busy season.

According to the Department of Industry, Tourism, and Investment (ITI), there have been over 1,400 reservations made so far.

The system allows people to book their spots at territorial parks early and online.

Roughly 71 per cent of the site visitors were Canadian, with another 27 per cent from the United States.

Fred Henne Territorial Park was the most popular campground, with 587 bookings. Bookings can be made at NWTParks.ca.
