Ecology North kicks off Earth Week with a fish fry today

It’s Earth Week in Yellowknife, and Ecology North kicked off their week of celebrating our planet with a fish fry outside the post office Wednesday afternoon.

There are lots of events planned this week to show you what you can do to help our planet, from bike workshops to a zero waste forum and talks on solar power.

We asked Ecology North’s executive director Craig Scott about why this is such an important week to celebrate.

“The Earth is the most important thing to all of us,” Scott said.

“We should really set aside some time to celebrate all it does. This is a beautiful time of year to get outside and celebrate, to thank the earth for everything that it does.”

Earth Week runs until April 26, with Saturday marking Earth Day. You can find a full list of events on Ecology North’s website.
