Stanton CEO no longer in position, no answers as to why

The chief operating officer of Stanton Territorial Hospital has left the position, after only eight months on the job.

Colin Goodfellow is no longer the hospital’s top executive, after moving to the city last September from Kemptville, Ontario.

The reason behind Goodfellow’s departure is not clear, but the hunt is now on to fill the role permanently.

In an email, a spokesperson for the Department of Health and Social Services confirmed Goodfellow’s departure, saying: “Colin Goodfellow is no longer the Chief Operating Officer for Stanton Territorial Hospital.”

They did not respond to questions concerning when Goodfellow left the position or the circumstances surrounding his departure, including whether he was fired or left of his own volition.

They did say that in the interim, Les Harrison has taken over the position. Harrison was formally acting CEO of the Yellowknife health and social services authority. He took over the position on Monday.
