Free breakfast for volunteers in Yellowknife this weekend

Volunteer work is always commendable, and a lot of the time goes unnoticed.

This weekend the City of Yellowknife is recognizing its dedicated volunteers with a free pancake breakfast.

Around 12 community organizations are expected to honour their volunteers at the fourth annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast, recognizing the important role they play in the community.

“Our city is fortunate to have a wide range of organizations which serve the needs of our residents,” said Mayor Mark Heyck on the city’s website.

“It is the generosity of volunteers that enable these groups to provide their valuable services. I look forward to recognizing and celebrating our community of volunteers.”

The breakfast will start at 9 a.m. April 1 at the Multiplex gym, and run until around 10:30 a.m. All community volunteers are welcome. You can find more information on the city’s website.
