A Yellowknife woman is safe after the city fire division saved her from the deck of a burning building over the weekend.
At just before 10 o’clock Saturday morning, firefighters arrived at the residence on Williams Avenue.
Smoke was coming from the second from window and the open door leading to the deck, where the woman was standing on the deck.
Firefighters set up a ladder to reach her before bringing her down to safety. She was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital for observation.
According to the city, the damage to the building is estimated at $120,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
