Court date pushed back for youth murder suspect

Yellowknife, NWT – A 17-year-old boy from Fort Good Hope, north of Norman Wells, charged with first degree murder will remain in custody.

The suspect appeared in territorial court in Yellowknife Wednesday morning.

He’s charged in the death of a young woman in Fort Good Hope last Saturday.

RCMP won’t release the victim’s name, but community members have identified her as Charlotte Lafferty, who was the mother of three young children.

The accused will remain in custody until his next court appearance May 5th.
