Youth charged in 2015 sudden death of Fort Liard female

A youth from Fort Liard is facing charges of manslaughter and sexual assault causing bodily harm in connection with the sudden death of a female in October 2015.

The female was found dead on Oct. 3 of that year.

The youth was arrested earlier this month on Mar. 2, nearly a year and a half later. Neither they nor the victim can be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The youth has been released from police custody and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
