Drivers warned after day of collisions on Highway 3

If you’re heading out on Highway 3, take extra care.

Police say there were six collisions in one eight-hour spell on Monday, alongside a number of other vehicles stranded in the ditch.

At least one person was injured and taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife.

Road conditions between Fort Providence and Behchoko are said to be icy, with blowing snow reducing visibility.

“If you do not have to travel this section of highway at this time, you may want to wait for conditions to improve,” said Cpl Todd Scaplen of RCMP Traffic Services.
