Sudden death in Fort Liard prompts RCMP investigation

Fort Liard RCMP are investigating a sudden death in the community.

Shortly before noon on Sunday, police received a report of a person found dead on a trail near the community hall.

Members of the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Services have traveled to the community to assist with the investigation.

The territory’s chief coroner’s office has also been called in.

Police aren’t releasing any other information at this time.
