Vehicle crashes into Scotia Centre building Friday morning

Yellowknife RCMP are investigating a single vehicle motor vehicle accident after a car ran into the Scotia Centre building early Friday morning.

Police say that at around 1:00 a.m. the car crossed the centre line on Franklin Ave., striking the building.

RCMP have told Moose FM that the driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle, though could not comment on what caused the accident at this time.

The car sustained extensive damage and the driver was taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital for medical assessment.  The investigation is still ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Yellowknife RCMP at (867) 669-1111 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
