Restricted firearm seized from Yellowknife hotel room

A man and woman have been charged after a restricted firearm was seized from a Yellowknife hotel room Thursday morning.

Anatoly Eichmann, 28, and Jamie Haward, 21, have both been charged with unauthorized possession and careless storage of a firearm.

Eichmann remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in territorial court on Monday, while Haward was released but is expected to make a court appearance on Feb. 14.

Police continue to investigate.
