Yellowknife RCMP say three men are facing a total of 33 charges following a significant drug bust in the community.
Police executed a warrant under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act at a local motel last Friday.
The search yielded a seizure of approximately 28 grams of crack cocaine, a small quantity of marijuana, scales, packaging, cash and a 9 millimeter hand gun.
Fade Dawood, 23, of Toronto, Joshua Rampersaud, 34, of Edmonton, and Lazare Sampson,20, of Yellowknife were arrested and are being held in custody.
All three men are scheduled to appear in Yellowknife Territorial Court on Tuesday.
“This investigation is part of the Northwest Territories RCMP commitment to decrease and ultimately eliminate drug trafficking in our communities,” reads an RCMP press release issued Monday afternoon.
“Drug trafficking is a societal problem that creates many spin-off crimes and affects all Canadians.”
