Yellowknife man charged after police seize crack cocaine, cash

A Yellowknife man has been charged after police seized crack cocaine from a local residence last Friday.

Altogether, police executed two search warrants as part of a drug investigation.

The first was at an apartment complex downtown, where a man was found in possession of five grams of crack cocaine, an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and other drug paraphernalia.

That same day, RCMP executed a second search warrant at a residence near the Multiplex, where they found small amounts of crack cocaine and other paraphernalia.

A total of 10 people were arrested during the second raid – including seven youth – however no charges are pending at this time.

A 63-year-old man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in connection with the first bust.

He’s scheduled to make his next court appearance on Mar. 21.
