Industry, Tourism and Investment Minister Wally Schumann credits camp staff for maintaining ‘world-class’ parks infrastructure and facilities.

“The increase in visitors to Northwest Territories parks over the last two years confirms that our approach to investing in parks infrastructure, training and tourism promotion, is working,” he said.

Fred Henne Territorial Park was by far the most popular park this summer, attracting 9,776 overnight visitors over the course of the season.

In terms of visitor origin, 46.4 per cent of overnight visitors came from other parts of Canada while 40.1 per cent were NWT residents.
