Candidates, agent face Elections Act charges after NWT election

Three people in the Nahendeh electoral district have been charged under the Elections and Plebiscites Act with offences related to the 2015 territorial election.

The charges were announced by the territory’s chief electoral officer Monday.

Arnold Hope and Dennis Nelner were both candidates in the election while Gaylene Moses worked as the official agent for Hope.

All three are now facing charges related to the filing of their financial reports.

Ultimately, Shane Thompson beat six other candidates to win the electoral district on Nov. 23, 2015.
