Warm weather affecting ice thickness on Yellowknife lakes

Even though lakes in the Yellowknife area are safe to walk on now that enough ice has formed, city officials are still asking residents to be careful. 

In a Facebook post Wednesday, the City of Yellowknife acknowledged that a couple of areas are experiencing overflow or open water due to recent warmer weather.

The city is advising residents to use caution near Negus Point by Great Slave Lake and near the Yellowknife River especially.
