Should there be a bike lane on Yellowknife’s Franklin Avenue between the fire hall and Mac’s convenience store?
That’s exactly what the city wants to find out when it hosts a public meeting and launches an online survey next week.
The idea is to gather feedback on a proposed bike lane along Franklin Avenue between Old Airport Road and Forrest Drive.
The city says it will provide two options based on recommendations that came out of a previous transportation study.
“We want to hear from all Yellowknifers including those who are cyclists, trail users as well as drivers,” said deputy mayor Adrian Bell in a statement.
“Creating a successful active transportation network requires input from all users.”
City officials will host a public meeting at city hall on Nov. 24 starting at 7:00 p.m. A survey on the city’s website will also collect feedback between Nov. 24 and Dec. 2.
