For an early November day, it’s surprising how warm it is.
Tuesday saw record-high temperatures in both Hay River and Yellowknife according to Environment Canada.
It was 5 C in Yellowknife Tuesday, the highest it’s been on this day since 1998 when temperatures reached a high of 2 C.
But Hay River topped that with a high of 9 C, three degrees warmer than the highest recorded temperature in the town, a record that hasn’t been beat since 1955.
The average high for Nov. 8 is -7 C in Yellowknife and -5 C in Hay River.
