Woman, 40, allegedly sexually assaulted in Yellowknife

A woman was sent to hospital following an alleged sexual assault in Yellowknife over the weekend.

Police say the alleged incident happened sometime between 3:30am and 4:30am Saturday near the Dettah ice road parking lot.

The reported assault sent a 40-year-old female victim to Stanton Territorial Hospital.

At this time, police are looking for an unknown man with a black pickup truck, possibly a crew cab with bed rails. The truck could also have license plates from outside the NWT, possibly of Alberta.

If you witnessed anything suspicious in the area between the Dettah ice road parking lot and Quality Inn early Saturday morning, you’re asked to contact Yellowknife RCMP with details.
