Outdoor movie night announced at Somba K’e Civic Plaza

The city says a movie night will be held outside at Somba K’e Civic Plaza, next to city hall, on Sunday, September 4.

Disney’s Jungle Book (2016) will be shown on a large screen in the amphitheatre with the movie set to begin at sunset, or roughly 8:45 pm. The event is free to attend.

You’re encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks, and reminded to dress warmly. In the event of unfavorable weather, the event will be cancelled.

CHANCE TO HELP THE SPCA

The NWT SPCA will also be onsite, selling popcorn and other snacks.

The volunteer organization recently announced that it could run out of money amid financial challenges and a lack of government funding.

President Nicole Spencer launched a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign on August 15 with the goal of generating $50,000. As of Thursday morning, the non-profit had collected $20,380.
