Public helps Yellowknife RCMP locate missing woman

Yellowknife RCMP want to thank the public for the role they played in locating a missing local woman.

On Monday afternoon, police announced that 47-year-old Luveena Keyookta hadn’t been seen since Dec. 11 when she was spotted leaving the Centre for Northern Families.

Within hours of asking for the public’s help Monday, police say she was found safe and sound downtown.

Police want to thank the public for their assistance and willingness to help others in their community.
