Charges pending after alcohol, marijuana seized near Łutsel K’e

Three people are facing charges after alcohol and marijuana were seized by Łutsel K’e RCMP just outside the community.

Police say the investigation began on August 17 when officers were tipped off about illegal alcohol being brought into the community.

Several individuals were found camping north of the community with marijuana and a “large quantity” of alcohol.

Charges are pending for two people from Yellowknife and a resident of Łutsel K’e under the territory’s Liquor Act.

“This incident highlights the Łutsel K’e RCMP’s commitment to stopping the illegal sale of alcohol in the community” read a press release.
