Charges pending after two adults hit by car in Yellowknife

Charges are pending after a man and woman were struck by a car in Yellowknife on Sunday evening, according to the RCMP.

Officers were on patrol around 7:15 pm when they noticed the incident at 50th Avenue and 49th Street.

“The car had turned from 49th Street and struck the victims and then hit a parking meter,” the RCMP said in a press release.

The victims were transported by emergency services to Stanton Hospital while the driver of the vehicle remained on scene. No information is being released about the condition of the victims.

An investigation is ongoing but RCMP do not suspect alcohol to be a factor.
