Two charged in connection with break-in at Hay River Golf Club

Two youths have been charged in connection with a string of break and enters including one at the Hay River Golf Club earlier this month.

Police say the two were responsible for at least five break and enters in Fort Providence and Hay River over a two-week stretch between July 13 and July 26.

They’ve also been charged in relation to the theft of a Department of Highways truck that was recovered in Fort Providence on July 19.

Of the five break and enters, RCMP say four were reported in Fort Providence and the one was reported in Hay River.

Due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the charged cannot be released.

“Fort Providence RCMP remain committed to providing a safe community and are actively taking steps to curb and investigate property crime in the community,” said police in a statement issued Thursday.
